The best Rooftop & View Dining in Penang is David Brown's Restaurant & Tea Terraces (Penang Hill, Air Itam). Also great: Gravity Rooftop Bar, G Hotel Kelawai, Top View Restaurant & Lounge and The Garam Rooftop Cafe & Dining.

Order: Colonial-style afternoon tea and Western mains
Up on Penang Hill with George Town and the strait spread out below. Afternoon tea on the terrace is the classic order; dinner after the crowds leave is quieter.

Order: Cocktails and bar bites with sea-and-hill views
A poolside rooftop with the sea on one side and the hills on the other. A favourite on Penang rooftop lists, best around sunset.
68th floorPenang Bridge viewKomtar
Order: Steaks and Western mains with island-wide views
The highest dining room in Penang, at the top of Komtar, with views from the Penang Bridge to Penang Hill. Reviews on food are mixed, but nothing else in George Town beats the outlook.
Pengkalan Weld, George Town, Penang

Order: Cafรฉ plates and local dishes with harbour views
A newer rooftop over Weld Quay looking out over the Penang Strait and the ferry lanes. Casual food and a relaxed alternative to the bar-heavy rooftops.
