Back home and craving hot soup? Ginger wine seafood noodles at Yu Tou Street, Downtown KLIA
Back from overseas and craving hot soup? Our editor's first pick is the spicy, warming ginger wine seafood bee hoon at Yu Tou Street in Downtown KLIA.
Updated November 2026
This article covers Yu Tou Street Restaurant in Downtown KLIA, Sepang, and the bowl our editor recommends first. After a trip overseas, what our editor most wanted was the hot soup of local Malaysian Chinese cooking, and the ginger wine seafood bee hoon here answers that craving: spicy, hot and super tasty, especially on a rainy day. Below is what to order, what other diners enjoy from the zi char menu, and a small bonus worth timing your visit for.
Yu Tou Street Restaurant
📍 Downtown KLIA, Sepang, Selangor

There's a particular kind of hunger that only hits after you've been away. You land, you've had enough of other people's food, and all you want is something hot, soupy and unmistakably Malaysian Chinese. That was our editor's mood after coming back from overseas, and the bowl at the top of the list is the ginger wine seafood bee hoon at Yu Tou Street Restaurant.
Our editor doesn't hold back on this one: super tasty, spicy and hot, and especially good when it's raining. In our editor's photos it arrives as a big bowl of fine bee hoon in a cloudy, golden soup, with clams still in their shells, squid, and prawns you can lift out whole with your chopsticks. Soups like this lean on ginger and Chinese rice wine for their perfume and warmth, the sort of thing that feels right when the sky has opened and you've just parked the car.
Downtown KLIA is handy if you're flying in or out, or you live around Sepang, and this is a plain, no-frills shop. Pictures of dishes line the white walls, a board lists the specials, and the focus stays on the food. Diners on Google often describe it as a place near the airport that's worth seeking out, and they keep mentioning generous portions and fair prices. It's the kind of zi char place that suits a whole table: seafood claypot, beef with ginger and spring onion, sweet and sour fish and herbal chicken all get warm mentions, and so does the fish noodle soup. Rice orders often come with a fried egg and a soup of the day, and the lady boss gets credit for steering people to what's good and for telling them when they've ordered enough.
Our editor's photos show more of what comes out of this kitchen: a pot of thick, glossy gravy with seafood and mushrooms, a plate in a dark, savoury sauce with wedges of onion and spring onion, and a tall iced drink to cool things down after all that ginger.
There's also a small treat to plan around. Our editor spotted a notice from the boss saying that free tong sui comes with your meal every Thursday, and on the first and fifteenth of the lunar month. It's a sweet way to finish a bowl that warms you right through, so if your timing is flexible, that's the day to come. If it's raining, even better.
